Glasgow Airport Job Fair

Douglas McAllister MP for West Dunbartonshire has encouraged local residents to attend Glasgow Airport’s upcoming job fair on Friday 17th of January, citing the new Renfrewshire bridge as a great link in improving access to the airport.

“With over 1,000 jobs on offer, this is a fantastic opportunity for people in West Dunbartonshire and the surrounding area who are looking for work or seeking a career change.” Douglas said.

Over 35 employers based across the airport’s campus will be represented at the event, which will be held at The Academy Suite within The Holiday Inn at Glasgow Airport from 10am-6pm.

“There are jobs to suit everyone whether you’re looking for a full-time, part-time and seasonal employment opportunity.

Glasgow Airport is only ten miles away from Clydebank by road but when the new Renfrew Bridge is open, this would reduce to around 4 miles, so it will become much more accessible.” Douglas said.

Glasgow Airport is a major employer in the City Region and supports over 30,000 jobs.

Scheduled for completion in March, the new bridge connecting Yoker and Renfrew allows for greater access to a diverse range of job opportunities that are available across the airport including security, retail, facilities management, catering, ground handling and transportation.

Those that will be in attendance of the fair include fire service provider FALCK, ground handlers Swissport and Menzies, security specialists ICTS and catering specialists Select Service Partners (SSP) who will be on hand to discuss various employment opportunities.

Airlines Loganair and Jet2 will also be in attendance to recruit for a range of positions as well as special assistance providers OCS and facilities management company ABM.

To sign up, register your interest in the Glasgow Airport Jobs Fair by emailing [email protected] and make sure you bring your CV and a valid ID such as a passport or driving license.

The 757 McGill’s bus service departs from Clydebank Bus Station on Chalmers Street and goes to Glasgow Airport through Erskine.

Alternatively, The First Bus 500 express service between Glasgow City Centre and the airport will be free to use for those attending and have pre-registered for the event.

Free parking in the Terminal’s Multi-Storey car park will be available on the day only to those who register in advance to attend the job fair and will be validated on departure.
