Douglas McAllister MP held a presentation at Clydebank Town Hall on Friday the 6th of December, to celebrate the winners of his annual Christmas Card Competition.
This year’s winners were from Mrs Murray’s Primary 7 class at St. Michael’s Primary School in Dumbarton. 1st place was Kris Thompson, and the two runners up were Freya Mundie and Prielle Kalunga.
The card will be sent out from Douglas to His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the Prime Minister, The House of Commons Speaker, Members of Parliament and Councillors as well as hundreds of residents, businesses, and community groups right across West Dunbartonshire, with the winners’ names and school displayed on every card.
When he served as provost of West Dunbartonshire, Douglas McAllister handpicked a school from West Dunbartonshire to participate in his competition and now as the local MP, he has continued this tradition.
Douglas McAllister, MP for West Dunbartonshire said;
“I was delighted to present the awards to the winner Kris Thompson as well as to the runners up Prielle Kalunga and Freya Mundie from Mrs Murray’s Primary 7 class at St. Michael’s Primary School in Dumbarton. Well done to you all for creating such wonderful designs.
I want to thank every entry we received from St. Michael’s Primary sevens; you all made it very difficult to pick a winner, and I look forward to next year’s competition to see what another brilliant West Dunbartonshire school has to offer.”
